I’m James, a multi-award nominated photographer based in West Yorkshire, UK.
Live events such as burlesque and music photography are my bread & butter so to speak, but I don’t wanna limit or pigeon-hole myself. I’m also into exploring landscapes, architecture, skateboarding and candid street photography but I’m not one to shy away from a new challenge. I’m always open to new ideas so you name it (within reason), and I’ll shoot it.
I shoot almost exclusively using only natural or provided lighting (although there’s the odd exception) and I’m always looking to push my visuals further. I’m often seeking that sense of drama or intrigue within an image or partial storytelling that encourages the viewer use their imagination to fill in the blanks. I sometimes try to achieve this by experimenting with high colour contrasts and monochrome effects in the editing stages.
